An authorized Rinnai installer in Arlington

We are an authorized Rinnai installer, based in Arlington and installing across Northern Virginia. The Rinnai model is chosen for your house and named on your estimate.

Two things decide the model: how much hot water you run at once, and what the house can supply. A condensing unit is more efficient but needs a drain for its condensate; a non-condensing unit needs a vent rated for hotter exhaust. We check the gas line, the vent route and the drain on the site visit before we name a model.

Which Rinnai?

Rinnai's current residential range splits into condensing units (higher efficiency, need a condensate drain) and non-condensing units (simpler venting needs, lower efficiency), each with and without a built-in recirculation pump.

Recirculation keeps hot water close to the far taps, so a bathroom at the end of a long run gets hot water sooner. Whether it is worth it depends on the length of your pipe runs, which we look at on the visit.

Series and efficiency figures as Rinnai lists them (rinnai.us, October 2026). UEF is the federal efficiency rating; higher is better.

What a Rinnai install includes

The Rinnai unit plus the gas line check, the vent kit, the condensate drain on condensing models, isolation valves for flushing and an outlet. Each is a line on the estimate.

Flushing and upkeep

A tankless unit is flushed through its isolation valves to clear scale from the heat exchanger. How often depends on your water hardness and use.

Northern Virginia water ranges from moderately hard to hard depending on the supplier, and scale builds faster in a heat exchanger than in a tank. Your area page lists your supplier's published hardness.

How a replacement works

  1. Call or send the form with what you have now: fuel, tank size and age.
  2. We look at the space, the gas or electrical hookup, the vent and the water lines.
  3. You get one free, itemized estimate, with the model named and every line priced.
  4. Install day: the old heater is drained, disconnected and hauled away, the new one is set, connected and tested.
